Some of you may have seen that we had a little inside joke in the office on Wednesday about having my first day all over again in my ‘brand new job’. This is because I’m thrilled to announce I have finished my apprenticeship and yes, I am here to stay!
If I could go back in time and tell myself how far I would have come by the end of my apprenticeship, my mind would have been blown. What a rollercoaster of a year it’s been. From piles of coursework to office baking competitions, I’ve really seen everything All Things Web® has to offer. However, along the way, I have also seen what it takes to work in the world of digital marketing and I’ve watched my fundamental knowledge develop into brand new talents and skill sets. After accumulating such a useful insight of the industry, I am thrilled to let you know I am certainly staying.
For my final blog (well as an apprentice that is), I have been asked to write a summary of my time as an apprentice. The real challenge here is not to write an essay, and not to get soppy about my amazing team.
The Best Bits
I wanted to tell you about my favourite bits of being at All Things Web®, but then suddenly my mind was over flowing with funny stories, successful projects and some really great moments with our clients. I’ve managed to narrow it down to my top three:
Firstly, The Wiltshire Business Awards was certainly up there. Not only was it a fantastic achievement for All Things Web® and the team that worked tirelessly to get us there, but it was also a bit of glam. And everyone likes a bit of glam. On a serious note, the team thoroughly deserved it and it was a fantastic night all round.
Another ‘best bit joining the top three is a more recent addition. Getting stuck into the project of producing and running our very first seminar was somewhat of a separate roller coaster in itself. I was lucky enough to watch a simple idea turn into a full seminar with coffee, biscuits and all sorts! Bring on the next one which you can all look forward to in September. Keep your eyes and ears peeled for more information.
My final one is less of an event, but something I really take pride in. I love books and I like thinking I could write a bit, but All Things Web® have taken me in as a little shy writer and helped me produce the work I do today. Again, this is a new skill I have that I can take with me in any situation and will never stop learning from.
Get An Apprentice!
Looking at my past blogs and experiences, I am certain it is evident that my time as an apprentice has been nothing but beneficial to both myself and All Things Web®. Although apprentices are usually seen as a position taken up by young people, in 2014/15, the 25+ age group made up 43% of all apprentice starts and were the largest group of starters for the 5th year in a row.
This really shows how popular the scheme is becoming for everyone involved – I certainly know I’ve been reaping in the benefits along with millions of others to kick start my career.
The best bit is you don’t need to pass an exam to accumulate experience! Interested about my time as an apprentice? Take a look at our company news to see my experience from start to finish, as well as what else has been going on with the team in the past year.
I am extremely happy to announce that I have accepted a job with All Things Web®! They won’t be getting rid of me anytime soon. With new team members, fresh seminars and new goals, All Things Web® is undoubtedly on a roll and continuing to move onwards and upwards alongside our clients.
