Who Are They? Alert-it manufactures and distributes a range of electronic patient care aids directly to the public and professional care organisations.

Company Background

Since their inception in 1992, Alert-it Care Alarms have become the UK’s foremost providers of Plesiocare within Assistive Technology for all care markets. They provide monitors and alarms that can reduce the stress of caring for individuals with a wide range of needs. Alert-it’s expertise and products can be invaluable in the care of individuals with epilepsy, learning difficulties, autism, dementia, incontinence, and for those at risk of falls.

What Did Alert-it Want?

According to the experts over at Alert-it, Christmas can be a fairly dangerous period as seizures become increasingly more common. So in November 2014 their team decided to create a guide to coping with epilepsy during the festive season.

Alert-it wanted to raise brand awareness through the creation of this guide, which they planned to distribute through a small targeted content marketing campaign in conjunction with some key industry experts.

Project Summary

Here at All Things Web® we proposed a content marketing strategy by which we would located an audience and engage with them through added value content. In our experience, and certainly in this case, a well-executed, quality content marketing strategy is proven to deliver sales results.

With the correct mix of added value and sales to build trust and credibility, we proposed to create interesting, useful, and easily understood content to gain awareness. Therefore, All Things Web® worked with Alert-it to create a series of blog posts based around the content of their Christmas Epilepsy Awareness Guide. We would endeavour to promote and drive traffic to their website not only during the campaign, but beyond.

We also created a social media campaign on Facebook and Twitter to generally raise brand awareness and to promote the individual blogs and guide using a combination of organic and paid social media posts. As with any client we ensured that the implementation of paid social media advertising was appropriate and within the agreed budget in order to extend the reach of the campaign.

The Outcome

Successful Social Media Post ExampleThrough targeted content creation which covered the above social media channels for the duration of the campaign, Alert-it saw fantastic levels of engagement.

Included in the blog series created for Alert-it was a topic discussing how to help someone having a seizure; whether you’re a family member, a friend, carer, or stranger in the street. We even went one step further and created a “handy” acronym to push throughout the campaign. Why don’t you have a look, you might learn a thing or two by simply lending a hand?

Take a look at this screenshot to the right. We boosted the post for just 2 days and with the right targeting it reached 7,288 people. There were a total of 65 link clicks (which takes the user directly to the blog from Facebook), 23 shares and 47 likes.

Directing people to the blog series on Alert-it’s website the image reached a total of 7,452 people. There were a total of 74 link clicks, 45 shares, and as you can see 230 direct likes with even more coming through the shared posts.

After the success of their Christmas campaign, Alert-It continues to work with us for a number of digital marketing strategies.
